Finding the best photo locations in Findlay, Ohio can make all the difference in capturing beautiful memories. One of the most common questions I get when clients book a session is, “Where should we take our photos?” And let me tell you—Findlay has no shortage of beautiful spots! Whether you’re looking for a dreamy outdoor setting, a charming downtown vibe, or a cozy indoor option, I have you covered.
And hey, if you're a fellow photographer or just someone wanting to snap your own family memories, I’m all about sharing my favorite spots—because we don’t gatekeep here! Whether you're working with me, another photographer, or taking photos on your own, I want to help you find the perfect location.
So, here are my top picks (in no particular order) for the best photo locations in Findlay, Ohio!
Riverside Park – 231 McManness Ave

Riverside Park has so much to offer, but my absolute favorite spot? The waterfall. It may not be Niagara Falls, but it’s a stunning natural backdrop that brings such a peaceful and timeless feel to photos. I also love venturing down to the riverbank for some beautiful shots by the water. If you prefer to stay on dry land, the paved paths and tree-lined edges of the park are equally gorgeous!
One thing to keep in mind—there are playgrounds here, which can be a great post-session reward for little ones, but they can also be a distraction during photos. Just something to consider if you’re bringing young kids!
Litzenburg Memorial Woods – 6100 US-224

Located just west of Findlay, Litzenburg is a place I’ve been visiting for years, and it never disappoints. This spot holds an extra special place in my heart because my best friend Emily got married here!
While the wooded trails are stunning, my favorite area is actually right up front. The classic red barn, wooden fences, and a beautifully unique (but uninhabited) house provide the perfect rustic charm for photos. There’s also a playground here, but don’t worry—I have a general flow that keeps little ones focused while still getting them excited for the session!
Donnell Pond – 1300 S West St
Tucked behind Donnell Middle School and Findlay High School’s stadium, this location is a hidden gem. The pond, complete with a stunning fountain, is absolutely magical at golden hour! A scenic walking path wraps around the pond, and there’s even a wooden bridge that adds a little extra charm.
One of my favorite things to do here is capture families sitting along the rocks by the water—such a cozy and intimate setting! That said, if you have little ones who are runners (like mine!), just keep in mind that the water is very accessible.
Oakwoods Nature Preserve – 1400 Oakwood Ave
If you love variety in your photos, Oakwoods is the place to go. In the spring, there’s a breathtaking bloom next to the Discovery Center (two of my all-time favorite maternity sessions happened right there!).

The park also offers two separate bodies of water, wooded boardwalks, and an open field that’s perfect for dreamy golden-hour shots.
This park is also a hot spot for fishing, but I’m convinced it was designed for photography—it’s just that perfect. Fun fact: my first-ever maternity session as a client was here in 2016!
Riverbend Park – 16618 Township Rd 208
Okay, I know I keep saying every spot is my favorite, but for fall photos, Riverbend is my #1 pick. The trees here are stunning, the paved walking paths make for effortless exploring, and the mix of open fields, wooded areas, and water features gives you so many options.
Oh, and let’s talk about the bridges! There’s a rustic wooden covered bridge and a more industrial metal bridge—both add a unique touch to any session. If you’re an engagement or maternity client, I highly recommend the fields here for a soft, romantic vibe. Plus, I have a favorite tree here (yes, a specific tree!) that makes for the dreamiest backdrop. If anyone can tell me what kind of tree it is, let me know—I’m obsessed!
Downtown Findlay & The Hancock Hotel – 631 S Main St
Sometimes, Ohio weather has other plans for us, which is why I love having an indoor option like The Hancock Hotel. The elegant interior makes for beautiful, timeless photos, especially if you're rocking one of my client closet gowns for a maternity session!
But if the weather is on our side, downtown Findlay is full of hidden gems! Some of my favorites include:
The ivy wall and walkway between Scramblers and Chase Bank
The fun little plaza across from TRENDS on Main
The many murals throughout downtown! (My personal favorite is the Starry Night mural at City Apparel, but if you’re a Pink Floyd fan, there’s another gem next to The Findlay Office.)
Marathon’s line of trees on Hurd Ave, which looks absolutely magical in the winter when they’re all lit up!
